ODSP penalizes for working

Would you work for 50% of your wages?

ODSP recipients are on the system because they have shown they cannot maintain full-time jobs.  If they are capable of working at all, it is usually part-time employment.  A part-time job will not get them above the poverty line but let alone at 50% reductions.

Disability breeding poverty in Hamilton?  Yes.  Given we have one of the highest proportions of disabled individuals per capita in Ontario it would seem so.
